Indivisible Charleston is a grassroots nonpartisan political organization.
We firmly believe that the current administration's agenda will take America backwards. We seek to empower Americans to make their voices heard against the forces of hatred and oppression, and in defense of inclusion, respect, and equity.
Indivisible Charleston seeks to mobilize citizens in the Tri-county area to participate in the democratic process, to promote systemic equity and justice, and to facilitate civil discourse in the political arena.
We envision a community in which:
All residents have the knowledge and education necessary to empower them to participate in democratic processes.
Political discourse is characterized by respect and truthfulness.
Residents take ownership of their community by engaging in community service.
We believe in:
Systemic equity and justice for all residents of the Tri-County area.
Respect and civil discourse in the public and political forums.
Community service and resident engagement in solving community problems.
Meet our Leadership Team
Katie Preston, Chair
Katie is the one who makes it all happen. No one has yet discovered when she sleeps. When she isn't leading the resistance, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe Preston, and her two sons.
Amanda taylor, secretary
Amanda is a note-taking-extraordinaire. When she isn't taking minutes, you can find her working on her own writings.
sara stevenson, treasurer
Sara is a SC native with a Master in Public Administration from the College of Charleston. Her experience with grants at the College of Charleston translates into proper financial stewardship of Indivisible funds. When she isn't reading policy for fun, Sara enjoys running and playing the ukulele.
vanessa moody-laird, Media coordinatoR & Vice Chair
Vanessa is mom of four boys, and because of that, doesn't need a microphone to be heard.
tamika gadsden, social media coordinator & outreach coordinator
You will not find Mika without at least one phone in her hand. In addition to maintaining our social media presence, she is also in charge of Women's March-SC.
